At the IAA Frankfurt Show in September 2003,
AM premiered
2004MY Vanquish (see above). Instantly visible from the exterior are
rarely seen 7 spoke
19” alloy wheels equipped with Yokohama 255/40 ZR 19 front and
285/40 ZR 19 rear tyres, designed exclusively for the V12 Vanquish. The original 12-spoke alloy wheel still
remained
available as a no cost option. The interior was also slightly re-worked
with new front seats with better support for the shoulders. The
deep centre console casting, door release surrounds, instrument pack
surround and other interior fittings were finished in a new liquid
metal finish called Platinum, plus the red plastic starter button was
replaced by the backlit etched glass version as first seen in the DB9.
Not so clearly visible, but of great importance were the new anti-lock
ventilated and grooved Brembo discs - 355mm (front) and 330mm (rear) -
with uprated competition-derived Pagid brake pads. These were balanced with
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) is used to re-balance front and
rear braking forces under different loads.
