| Aston Martin 15/98 Tourer (1936
- 1939)
(Long Chassis - Coachwork by E. Bertelli of Feltham) |
|
|
| Together with the new 2 litre saloon on the 1936 AM stand at the Motor
Show was a hastily completed two door, four seater, also built on the long
chassis (9' 8'') with the new 2 litre wet sump engine. Deliveries of the
£575 completed car (bodied by E Bertelli Ltd in the factory next door to
Aston Martin) started in early 1937. Sales were sadly slow and it took
some time for the 24 examples to be sold. Indeed the list price for the heavy
and expensive car was cut to £475 in June 1938 in an effort to clear the
un-sold examples.
A single long chassis drop head coupe was completed by E Bertelli for Lance Prideux-Brune, the London Aston Martin dealer. |
