Aston Martin DB2/4 Mark II Drophead Coupe (1955 - 1957)

The DB2/4 Mark II was also available with this wonderful drophead coupe body style. Powered as standard by the 140bhp 2992cc VB6J engine; the special series 165bhp unit was available as an option. This green car  was photographed at the AML/Brooks auction, May 2000. It is actually a converted fixedhead coupe.
But this blue car, photographed in the car park at AML during the 2000 auction, is an original drophead coupe. Indeed it was the next to last of the DB2/4 mark II dhc’s to be built. The light blue car below (the last dhc built) was auctioned at the 2001AML/Brooks auction. The DB2/4 Mark II drophead coupe was a very rare car indeed with possibly as few as 16 examples produced.
