This unique DB2/4 (LML/761) was purchased chassis only
together with a 3 litre DB3 specification engine
direct from the factory by a close friend of David Brown, Mr. J. O'Hana of Casablanca.
Mr O'Hara then shipped the car to the
coachbuilding firm of Serafino
Allemano, Carrozzeria
Allemano of Turin, Italy.
Here it received this unique Berlinetta
coachwork designed by Giovanni Savonuzzi who was also responsible for the Ghia
Supersonic.
At least to my eyes, it is incredible that
the coachwork looks as modern as the (remarkably similar) 1958 DB4 but designed five years previously.
The car eventually turned in in the US in the late 1970's and has undertaken a
full Pebble Beach restoration wining it's class in 1994. In 2007, the car was
being sold by California specialists, The Blackhawk Collection.
I managed to catch up with the unique Allemano at the 2007 Pebble Beach
Concours d'Elegance where AM were the featured marque. |
