The GTA was also introduced at the 2002 Birmingham Motor Show with a 5 speed Touchtronic gearbox
and with the engine in standard 420 bhp tune. Apparently, the
Touchtronic gearbox is unable to cope with the additional power of the full
GT engine. Other than the gearbox
and engine output, the GTA is otherwise identical to the GT.
Above is pictured a GTA together with the factory Vanquish at Newport Pagnell in May 2003. The GTA is an even rarer car than the GT, with only 112 ever built; 60 of which were sold on the UK market and 17 for the USA. |
