| Aston Martin DB5 convertible (1963 - 1965) | ![]() |
|
|
| This is the convertible or drophead coupe version of the DB5, but never Volante - that came later. Wonderful to look at hood up or down; DB5 convertibles found 123 lucky owners in the mid 1960's. These low numbers are more due to the disruption in production that the convertibles caused rather than unpopularity. At introduction, the UK price including taxes was £4490, a modest premium over the standard cars £4175 price tag. |

An exceptional example of the convertible with a superb colour combination between the hood and coachwork, photographed during the concours at the AMOC Horsfall meeting, 2000. |

This early DB5 Convertible, the fourth built and finished in Acapulco Blue was auctioned at the 1999 auction at Coys Festival, Silverstone. The DB5 convertible is blessed with the same six cylinder, 4 litre engine of the standard car. |

Another blue car, but this time with stone leather and the correct pleated seats. DB6’s had seats with distinctive V stitching. The DB5 convertible continued with the tradition started with the DB4 convertible with a body coloured dashboard. |
